Alumni/MOCH Mass & Breakfast
The Annual Mass and Communion Breakfast sponsored by the Alumni Association and the Men of Calvert Hall will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010.  Mass will begin at 10am in the McManus Theatre followed by breakfast in the Russo Dining Hall.  Reverend John L. Dorn, OSST '60 will be the Celebrant.  Awards will be presented to Shawn P. Casserly '74 (Outstanding Alumnus), Stephen S. Duklewski, Jr. '63 (St. John Baptist de La Salle) and Br. Charles J. Filberg, FSC (Brother Gabriel Cannon Teacher Appreciation).  In addition, the Class of 1960 (50th Reunion) will be honored and will receive their class medals.  See the DOWNLOADS section for more information.

Brother Tom Memorial 5k Road Race
The 2nd Annual Brother Tom Memorial 5k Road Race & Walk has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 25, 2010.  Registration begins at 10am at Russo Stadium. Cost is $20 per adult, $10 per student and children under 10 are free. Commemorative t-shirts will be given to the first 200 people to register. Proceeds benefit the Brother Thomas Miller '65 Scholarship Fund at The Hall. Choose the 1+ mile walk around campus or the 5k race through Loch Raven Village. Kids under 10 can enter the Fun Run around the CHC track ~ medals will be given to all Fun Run participants.  All race events start at 12pm.  See DOWNLOADS for a registration form.

MONTANA IMMERSION TRIP
Nine Calvert Hall students traveled to Browning, Montana February 15-21, 2009 to volunteer at the de La Salle Blackfeet School, a Christian Brother’s run San Miguel school on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. They had an incredible week and their “Montana Blog” has had several thousand hits. Check out what the hype is all about at www.calverthall.com/montana.

JAZZ ORCHESTRA TO PERFORM AT THE MARYLAND SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND
The Maryland School for the Blind (MSB) will host "The Jazz Project," a free jazz concert on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 7pm in the Jen C. Russo Arts Center on its campus.  The event will feature the school’s jazz band, The Blue Duffs; the Calvert Hall jazz orchestra and acclaimed jazz pianist Lafayette Gilchrist.  The day also includes a social hour between MSB’s visually impaired musicians and Calvert Hall’s musicians.

FOOTLOOSE
The Theatre Department will present "Footloose" as its spring play production on April 3-5.  The show, which is in the McManus Theatre, is at 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday and at 2pm on Sunday.  Tickets are $5 for students/seniors and $10 for others.  Contact Jillian Locklear, Drama Director, at locklearj@calverthall.com for tickets or additional information.
MISSION DRIVE
Faculty/staff and students will participate in the annual Mission Drive March 9-19, 2009.  Last year, Calvert Hall collected a school-record $7,400.00 for the Besrate Gabriel School in Ethiopia.  Collections will be taken daily in homeroom and class-wide competitions will be held to engage the entire school in support of this worthy endeavor.  Donations this year will be given to the Mount La Salle School in Makurdi, Nigeria.
PARENTS' CLUB FUNDRAISERS
The Parents' Club will sponsor fundraisers at Red Robin (1238 Putty Hill Avenue - Across from Calvert Hall) from 4-9pm on Monday, April 20, 2009 and at Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries (Yorkridge Center North - 10540 York Road - Cockeysville, MD 21030) from 4-9pm on Thursday, April 23, 2009.  Proceeds from both events will benefit the Senior Post Prom Party at Dave & Buster's on May 3, 2009.
