Jason Hasson Named Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Calvert Hall

Calvert Hall College High School announced on May 22, 2018,  the appointment of Jason Hasson as the varsity basketball head coach. Hasson most recently served for the past two seasons as the head coach at West Catholic Preparatory School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He will also teach in the Social Studies department.   

“Coach Hasson is a great fit for our school and our students,” said athletic director, Lou Eckerl. “He is a passionate individual with a solid coaching and teaching background. We feel that we have found a winning combination for our school.”
 
In addition to his coaching stint at West Catholic, Hasson also coached at Pope John XXIII in Sparta, New Jersey for five years compiling a 112-36 record. During his time at Pope John XXIII, Hasson won five consecutive league and county titles while seeing his team named Team of the Year four times. He also led his team to a #14 ranking in the USA Today Super 25 poll.
Prior to Pope John XXIII, Hasson was an assistant coach at Saint Anthony High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. He helped the team win two New Jersey State championships and the 2011 National Championship as named by USA Today and Max Prep.

Coach Hasson shared, “Calvert Hall has a very storied tradition in basketball and I am looking forward to continuing to make The Hall the gold standard for high school basketball. Having a won a national championship, I know what it takes to compete at that level and I am excited to bring this title back to Calvert Hall.”
                                                                                                  
Hasson has produced nine Division I players and three NBA players. In total, he has seen 17 of his student-athletes continue their careers at the DI, DII, and DIII levels.

He earned his BA in History with a minor in Business Management from St. Vincent College. He then earned his MAT in Social Studies from Manhattanville College.
