Cardinals Beats St. John's

Calvert Hall wins contest against St. John's on Saturday, 4-2
In the first inning, St. John's got their offense started when Allen singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Calvert Hall evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning when Peter Marchineck singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. After St. John's scored one run in the top of the fifth, the Cards answered with one of their own. St. John's scored when Renolic singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Calvert Hall Cardinals then answered when Antonio Barranca singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. The Cardinals pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for the Cards. Marchineck got the start for Cardinals. He surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out nine and walking one. Schauer led things off on the pitcher's mound for St. John's. He went two and a third innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out six and walking one. Renolic and Triontos entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and one and one-third innings respectively. Lamar King went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Calvert Hall Calvert Hall Cardinals Varsity in hits.
