Calvert Hall Claims Blow Out Win Over Mount St. Joseph Thanks To Third Inning Boost

A ten-run third inning led Cards to a 15-1 victory on Monday. Jose Torres, Antonio Barranca, Peter Marchineck, Alex Khan, Owen Liberto, all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Calvert Hall fired up the offense in the first inning, when Marchineck singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
The Cards pulled away for good with ten runs in the third inning. In the third Torres singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Barranca tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Marchineck drew a walk, scoring one run, Khan singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Liberto doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Torres tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Calvert Hall Varsity 2019 scored on a stolen base during Barranca's at bat. Then Barranca doubled.
Marchineck was the winning pitcher. He lasted four innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out five. Grant Duemmel threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
The Hall collected 17 hits on the day. Parker Landwehr, Barranca, Liberto, Torres, and Khan all collected multiple hits. Barranca and Landwehr each managed three hits.
