Calvert Hall Nabs Win Over Archbishop Curley Despite Early 4-Run Inning
Cards claimed a 9-4 victory on Monday, despite a big push by Archbishop Curley in the fifth inning.
The Cards got things started in the first inning. Parker Landwehr's sac fly scored one run. The Hall scored four runs in the third inning. Garrett McIlhenney, Jose Torres, and Antonio Barranca all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Brady Power earned the win. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out four and walking one. Scott Borgmann and Peter Marchineck entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Calvert Hall launched one home run on the day. Barranca had a homer in the third inning. Cards collected ten hits. Sami Khan, Barranca, and Torres each had multiple hits. Torres, Barranca, and Khan each managed two hits to lead Calvert Hall Varsity 2019. Calvert Hall didn't commit a single error in the field. Landwehr had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
