Calvert Hall gets back on track

The Cardinals got back to their winning ways on Tuesday, April 16 at Country Club of Maryland with a 16-5 win over Mount Saint Joseph.

The victory improved Calvert Hall's A-Conference record to 4-1 on the season.

Three players swept all three available individual points in the win; Harrison Silva, Lorenzo Sanz and Matt Cover. Silva and Michael Crowley teamed up for a total of 6 points in the 1-2 pairing, while Sanz and Austin Steckler collected 6.5 points in the 3-4 pairing. Cover and Pat Hurdle picked up 3.5 points in the 5-6 pairing to complete the scoring.

"Anytime you get three players picking up nine total points, you're almost assured of winning the match," explained Coach Forrester. "It was really important to get those points out of Michael and Harrison in the 1-2 pairing. Words spreads quickly and filters back to the other players."

Steckler and Sanz have both played all five matches and neither is yet to lose. Steckler has lost just 1.5 points out of a possible 15, while Sanz, a freshman, has surrendered just 2.5 points out of 15. "Austin and Lorenzo have developed a strong partnership in a short amount of time," Coach Forrester states. "They're playing very good golf."
