Calvert Hall Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat John Carroll

Cards defeated John Carroll 14-4 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game.
Calvert Hall was down 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jose Torres homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. Torres led the Cards to victory by driving in five runs. He went 2-for-4 at the plate. Torres drove in runs on a 2 run home run in the fifth and a 3 run home run in the fifth to end the game. Grant Duemmel was credited with the victory. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Brady Power started the game for Calvert Hall. He went four innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out one Calvert Hall tallied ten hits in the game. Sami Khan, Torres, and Nicholas Tamberino all managed multiple hits. Calvert Hall didn't commit a single error in the field. Torres had the most chances in the field with five.
