Calvert Hall Overcomes St. Paul's In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

The Cardinals weathered a push by St. Paul's in the first inning where Calvert Hall coughed up three runs, but still won 18-3 on Thursday.
The Cards got things started in the first inning. Jose Torres hit a solo homer. The Hall notched eight runs in the fourth inning. Parker Landwehr, Nicholas Tamberino, Chase Davalli, Sami Khan, Garrett McIlhenney, and Torres each had RBIs in the frame. Kasey Baumgart was credited with the victory. He allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight. Tyler Brown threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Tyler Wright started the game for Calvert Hall but left after an arm injury. The Cards tallied three home runs on the day. Landwehr put one out in the fourth inning. Peter Marchineck had a homer in the first inning. Torres had a long ball in the first inning. Calvert Hall collected 14 hits. Antonio Barranca, Marchineck, Torres, and Tamberino each had multiple hits. Barranca led Calvert Hall Varsity 2019 with three hits in four at bats.
