Search Consultant, Chesapeake Search Partners
Location: Baltimore, MD

After graduating from Calvert Hall in 2010, I attended Towson University to play baseball from 2010-2014.

Upon my graduation from Towson University, I took the Summer of 2014 to figure out what my next chapter in life would be. I was not sure which route to take with my Communications Degree from Towson, but John Geraghty, Class of 1997, reached out to me on LinkedIn. John and two other partners had started a recruiting firm called Chesapeake Search Partners in 2013 which specializes in direct placements for companies in Baltimore. John had messaged me about a potential job opportunity he had available that he was trying to fill for one of his clients, so we had a meeting to sit down and discuss if I would be a good fit. After a few meetings with John, I asked “Are you hiring by chance for Chesapeake Search Partners? I want to work for you”. John was surprised, as hiring for his own startup company was not on his radar. After discussing with his other partners, we all went to lunch to discuss some specifics about the job... the rest is history. I became the first hire for Chesapeake Search Partners.

I have been working with John and Chesapeake Search Partners since the fall of 2014 specializing in recruiting Accounting and Finance professionals in the Baltimore area. One of the special things about Calvert Hall is the brotherhood we have all formed. As a member of the alumni association, I can tell you from firsthand experience that we all look out for each other and want to see a fellow brother succeed. We have worked with numerous alumni by not only helping them find jobs for themselves, but helping those alumni hire employees for their own businesses. Some of our greatest clients include Orlando Products (Joe Orlando class of 1977), Brooks Financial (Paul Brooks class of 1982 and Mike Brooks class of 1979), Hi-Fidelity (Sean Soth class of 1994), along with many others. By having such a loyal alumni group, I have been able to not only assist other Hallmen, but also contribute to the growth of Chesapeake Search Partners.

Calvert Hall does not just prepare you for the following four years of college, it prepares you for the rest of your life. The tools taught and the people I have met continue to assist me in succeeding long after leaving the Hall. There are so many ways to stay connected - networking groups, homecoming the day before thanksgiving, and countless golf outings and reunions that take place each year allow me to stay connected. I know it has certainly helped me as I continue my career journey.
