How did the Br. Tom Miller Program prepare you for college and your career?
"One of the best things I did in Brother Tom was my research and Ted Talk on the teaching methods of Language in High School.  I study foreign languages where I speak and teach Spanish and French.  I will be studying Russian soon. I have used some methods I researched in high school through Br. Tom as a base for further research.  I also benefitted from the lecture series I went on where I heard a presentation from Ian Bremmer.  I have analyzed and used a lot of Ian Bremmer's works, and it has been very beneficial to my college experience. I would not have had the opportunity to know about Ian Bremmer and his research without the Br. Tom program offering the lecture series."

How did participating in the program set you apart from other seniors applying for college?
I worked on my TED Talk which set me apart from other students.  My work on the Pimsleur effect in language learning gave me an edge as language education in the International Relations and Modern Foreign Language department is very important.

What advice do you have for the current students in the Br. Tom Miller Program?
"You can get out so much from this program, so go on the extra trips and go to the lecture series or on the college tours. All of the extra trips are amazing opportunities to explore what is outside of Calvert Hall.  Also, ask for new opportunities. When I went on the trip to University of Michigan with the help of Mr. Fan, I was able to go meet with the head of the musical theatre department and have a private one-hour long meeting. It was an incredible opportunity."

What was the best thing about being in the Br. Tom Miller Program?
Many of my friends from high school were also in the Br. Tom Program.  Going on the Midwest college tour was an unforgettable experience I had with my peers. I also loved the lecture series.  I have to give a shoutout to Mr. Fan, who was a great teacher and mentor.
