Mr. Dave Hallman's Letter for the McMullen Newsletter

Dear McMullen Alumni, Friends and Benefactors,

In my first year as Director of the McMullen Scholars Program, one of my most rewarding experiences has been getting to know alumni like you and to see where life has taken you since graduating from the Hall.  The more of you that I meet with, the more enthusiastic and grateful I feel about having the chance to fill the shoes of giants like Andy Moore and Louis Miserendino ’99 as Director.
It’s an exciting time to be a member of the McMullen Program.  Today’s Scholars will graduate into an alumni network with over three decades worth of graduates who have attended some of the top universities in the country and distinguished themselves in a wide range of careers.  Whether it’s through mentoring a senior working on his Capstone or hosting a group of us for a field trip, I know I speak for all current McMullens in sharing my thanks with you for the impact you continue to make on what it means to be a McMullen Scholar.
As we turn our attention to 2023, the McMullen faculty team of 5 other teachers and I have ambitious goals for expanding our college counseling efforts, offering field trips to new destinations, and starting a Program-specific endowment.  We’re looking forward to finding more ways to showcase how special our McMullens are to the world outside of 8102 La Salle Road.
I hope that the stories featured in this edition of the McMullen Alumni Newsletter will help share a bit of perspective on how special our McMullen tradition is to be a part of.
Yours,
Dave Hallman ’08
