In Memoriam of Dave Huntley

It is with great sorrow that Calvert Hall shares with you news regarding the passing on Monday, December 18, 2017, of Calvert Hall assistant lacrosse coach, Dave Huntley.

Dave Huntley was a staple in the lacrosse community at every level. Most recently the head coach of MLL's Atlanta Blaze, he was the only person to ever play on, coach, or manage each of Canada's World Championship Lacrosse teams. Huntley is a member of both the U.S. and Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fames. As a player, he won the NCAA title at Johns Hopkins in 1978 and 1979 while also being honored as the nation's top midfielder during his senior campaign.

Huntley was also an assistant coach for the Calvert Hall lacrosse team helping the Cardinals win the MIAA title in 2003, 2012 and 2017. His son Kevin '04 was a member of 2003 MIAA championship team.

Calvert Hall President, Br. John Kane FSC, shared, "Dave will be missed by so many. At Calvert Hall, education extends beyond the classroom. Dave Huntley got that. He saw lacrosse as an opportunity for our young men to continue their education on the field. Our community mourns his loss. Dave was a true Lasallian."

Bryan Kelly '87, CHC head lacrosse coach, said, "I loved Dave more than words can express. He was my best friend and a second father to my kids. I am so thankful that God brought him into my life and the lives of so many lacrosse players. We are better people for knowing Hunts."

The family will receive friends at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Road (beltway exit 26) on Friday, December 22nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
