VEX Robotics Summer Camp 2017
For Middle and High School Students

Participants will gain significant hands-on experience working in small teams (3-5) to construct a robot with the assistance of experienced Calvert Hall VEX Robotics Team Members. They will compete against the other teams in a camp wide tournament on the last day. Participants will learn brainstorming, collaboration, and engineering design skills. Boys and girls are invited to attend.

Session #1: June 20 to 22
• Designed for beginners—a primer for those interested in joining a robotics team. No experience necessary, but knowledgeable students are welcome.
• Time: 9.00 to 3.00
• Cost: $200

Session #2: July 11to 13
• For those experienced in VEX seeking advanced skills in design and programming as well as beginners seeking fun!
• Time: 9.00 to 3.00
• Cost: $200

Both camps include:

• Lunch and a t-shirt. Second time attendees will also receive a gift.
• Overview of the 2016-2017 Starstruck and 2017-2018 VEX competition games
• Warm-up activities to meet other students interested in robotics (particularly good for incoming CHC freshmen)
• Discussion of alternative robot design and game strategy
• Practice driving one of CHC’s World class robots
• Overview of robotics programming using ROBOTC
• Meet the 2016-2017 Calvert Hall VEX Team members and observe their robots in action
• Speakers in the field of robotics and STEM
• Sessions taught by Robotics Coaches Mrs. Renie Brown and Mr. Steve Borror
