Calvert Hall Cardinals Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Loyola

Calvert Hall nabbed the lead late in the game in an 11-6 victory over Loyola Blakefield on Saturday. The game was tied at six with the Cards batting in the bottom of the sixth when Parker Landwehr singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Loyola Blakefield scored four runs in the second inning, but Calvert Hall Cardinals Varsity still managed to pull out the victory.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Calvert Hall Cardinals Varsity tied things up at six. Mason Unfried hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run. The Cardinals tallied six runs in the fifth inning. Jose Torres, Dom Freeberger, Roberto Barranca, and Unfried powered the big inning with RBIs. Colin Flynn earned the win for Calvert Hall Cardinals Varsity. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one. O'Connor started the game for Calvert Hall Cardinals Varsity. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out six and walking one.  Landwehr went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Calvert Hall Cardinals Varsity in hits.
