Knott Foundation Awards Calvert Hall a $120,000 Grant

Calvert Hall is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $120,000 grant from the Knott Foundation. The grant will create an executive leadership program for Calvert Hall’s faculty and staff and will be awarded over the next three years. By creating two, eighteen-month leadership cohorts, Calvert Hall is making an investment in the future of the individuals, the institution, and Catholic education. This benefits the Catholic education system as the next wave of leaders are prepared for the triumphs and hurdles ahead.
Brother John Kane, FSC, Ed.D, President of Calvert Hall shared, “We are so grateful to the Knott Foundation for this wonderful grant. Calvert Hall is the epicenter of educational excellence in the Baltimore region. This grant will allow the institution to be considered the same for professional growth.”

Kathleen McCarthy, Executive Director of the Knott Foundation, added, “Supporting leadership development in our Catholic schools is critical to ensuring their long-term vitality. Through this investment in Calvert Hall’s executive leadership program, we are proud to help cultivate a pipeline of visionary leaders who will sustain and strengthen Catholic education across the Archdiocese.”

Comprising of more than one hundred thirty faculty and staff members, Calvert Hall is a workplace that empowers its employees to succeed in their present roles and beyond. Through cross-training opportunities, leadership succession planning, and sessions with a proven executive coach, the cohort members gain theoretical and practical leadership experience during the eighteen-month program.

The Knott Foundation awards annual grants based on a competitive application and review process. Calvert Hall has selected its first cohort to participate in the program. These individuals will begin their eighteen-month journey in August.
