Nick Delp kept Spalding off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the mound. He pitched a complete game shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out four. 
Brandon Dorsey put the Cards up for good with a three run blast in the sixth inning. With the game scoreless in the sixth inning Dorsey came to the plate and homered, scoring Jack Finn and Phil LoMedico
