Mr. Ted Buch's letter
Hello Br. Tom Miller scholars and parents,
I am pleased to write to you today as the new director of the Brother Tom Miller Honors Program starting the 2022-2023 school year. As some of you may know, I am a social studies teacher here at Calvert Hall College High School. Next year will mark my fourth at the Hall and my tenth in Catholic education. I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a transplant from southwest Florida.
I am currently in the process of planning a full slate of activities for the students, beginning with a joint college visit this summer with members of the McMullen program. My hope is to offer at least one service opportunity and one opportunity for academic enrichment outside of the classroom each month. While they’ll all be required to participate in a certain number of activities each semester, I am confident that it won’t be misconstrued as a chore!
Having taught many of the students in either AP Human Geography or AP World History, I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue working with them in the year ahead.
