Christopher Tsakalos '98, Operations Manager, H&S Bakery, Inc., was honored as one of "Greek America's Forty Under 40" award winners by the Greek America Foundation at the Gabby Awards reception in New York on April 28, 2012. The foundation also publishes the Greek America Magazine, sends students to Greece on a Hellenic Legacy Fund Scholarship, and hosts the National Innovation Conference in which they select forty Greek Americans Under 40 to receive an award for their success at what they do as well as their remarkable stewardship within their community.

Chris is a third generation family member baker and operations manager of H&S Bakery the largest privately-owned bakery in the United States. Today, H&S Bakery, along with its affiliates, is comprised of 14 divisions operating in seven states with distribution in 23 states. The company is made up of more than 2,000 employees and a fleet of 400 delivery vans. The Tsakalos family also co-owns Northeast Foods, which makes buns for McDonald's, and a development company which has transformed Baltimore's Harbor East neighborhood into Baltimore's premier residential, retail, culinary, and tourism destination.

He joined his family's business as a teenager while at Calvert Hall. Today he is in charge of orders, production, maintenance, packing, logistics and quality control. He directs both the Safety and Sustainability Teams at H&S.

Chris also supports the Lardarius Webb Foundation and Helping Up Mission.
