Cards build an early lead and hold on for first win of the season.
The Varsity Cards picked up their first win of the 2016 season by defeating Central Catholic 29-12. Playing their first game at home this season, the Cards built a fast 15-0 lead before the end of the first half. The 2nd half saw the Cards' defense having trouble stopping Central Catholic drives or regainign possession. Several Cardinal penalities gave the visiting Vikings enough momentum to score an early try and cut the lead to 15-7. Maintaing possession allowed the Cards to add 2 late scores and secure a 29-12 win.
