Physical Education Teacher

CALVERT HALL IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER 
FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Physical Education teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles among our students. This individual will create an engaging and supportive environment that encourages all students to participate in physical activities, develop teamwork skills, and foster a lifelong love of fitness. 
 
REQUIRED: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in physical education, kinesiology, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). 
  • Previous physical education teaching experience in a school setting will be considered a substitute for a degree in physical education, kinesiology, or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and health education. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster positive relationships. 
  • A commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical activity among students. 
  • Ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for all students. 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum for grades 9-10 that meets state and national standards. 
  • Design engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can participate and succeed. 
  • Instruct students in various physical activities, including team sports, individual sports, fitness, and health education. 
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. 
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their physical skills and understanding of health concepts. 
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and development. 
  • Stay current with best practices in physical education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities. 
 
COMPENSATION: 
The salary range for this position ranges from $44,500 to $70,000 annually and is commensurate with education and experience. This position is eligible for full-time benefits, including personal and sick leave benefits.
