#2 seed Calvert Hall led wire to wire last night in front of a packed gym vs. #3 seed John Carroll to pick up a 75-61 victory.  The Cardinals executed with great efficiency vs. John Carroll's zone defense and jumped out on the Patriots 12-4 in the first quarter.  The Hall relied on an up tempo attack to dictate pace and extended their lead to 35-24 at the half.  In the 3rd quarter the Patriots trimmed the lead to 6 only to see Calvert Hall execute beautifully out of a time out and to push the lead back to 10 at the end of the quarter.  John Carroll made another run in the 4th and cut the lead to 5 points but the Cardinals responded once again with crisp passing and strong finishes around the basket to push the lead back to 11.  The Hall went 12-15 from the free throw line in the 4th to close out the game with a 75-61 win. Calvert Hall will play Mt. Carmel in the MIAA Championship game on Sunday at 5:30pm at UMBC.
