Kian Donovan '22 studying at King's College

Kian Donovan '22 is majoring in War Studies and International Relations at King's College in London.

“The quality of education is great, and I get to dive into my subject material in Year 1 without worrying about general education courses.  King’s also has an amazing international student body: 35% of undergrads are from outside of the United Kingdom and my department has between 40-60%.”
As a first-year student majoring in War Studies, Kian is studying organized conflict from a historical, diplomatic, political and sociological standpoint.  He will graduate in May 2025.  In addition to his studies, Kian has gone to Edinburgh, Scotland and is planning more trips in the future.
Kian credits his Capstone Project for introducing him to War Studies.  His project studied the reasons that Interstate War has become so unpopular in the modern era. “I later found that many of the ideas that I have used, delved into schools of International Relations thought such as Realism and Liberalism, so the project was a great way of preparing me for my current course load. I also believe it was instrumental to my acceptance at King's.  For UK universities, applicants must apply to a program and demonstrate interest and qualification for it.  Bu showing both of these the Capstone was extremely helpful to me.”
