STEAM Program

What Is STEM?

Calvert Hall’s STEAM program is a comprehensive certificate program that blends science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. Through academic coursework, creative exploration, and extracurricular activities, students engage in experiences and learning that prepares them to think critically, solve complex problems, and innovate across both technical and creative fields in all five areas of STEAM.

As an integrated educational and experiential program of academics and activities, our STEAM program is designed to encourage students as they develop the skills of problem-solving, discovery, and investigative learning. Students are expected to transfer their formal classroom experiences into dynamic and meaningful activities outside of the classroom, including competitions, creative projects, or productive applications. Extracurricular activities will engage students in the practical application of STEAM as they explore their passions, express creativity, and develop the technical experience and personal skills needed in the 21st century.

How To Get Involved In STEM?

Students who want to be considered STEAM candidates must complete the application form by no later than February 15th of their sophomore year. The form will be available in the Week Ahead and Sunday Spark email. This application acts as an indication that the student intends to complete all the STEAM requirements.

STEAM candidates must enter the program by February 15th of their sophomore year and are expected to participate through their senior year. Students who complete all the STEAM requirements will be recognized as a STEAM graduate with a special certificate at graduation.
