Calvert Hall Welcomes 11 New Faculty & Staff Members

These newest additions to The Hall bring a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Ms. Sarah Lotz
is a new member of the Calvert Hall community as of the 2018-2019 school year.  She was born and raised in Nashville, TN, and moved to the Baltimore area five years ago to pursue a job in her field and a graduate degree.  She has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Lotz is passionate about helping adolescents recognize their worth and achieve fulfillment and success in all areas of their lives.  She is excited to begin building relationships with her students and to participate in the rich tradition and culture of Calvert Hall.
Mr. Tyler Twilley is the newest addition to the Calvert Hall counseling team, joining in 2018.  In the office, Mr. Twilley is the counselor for students whose last names begin with O-Z.  Prior to joining Calvert Hall, he was an Associate Dean of Admission for Amherst College, and he has worked in admissions at Johns Hopkins University and Cornell University.  Mr. Twilley graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations.

Foreign Language
Mrs. Lauren Hardesty is in her thirteenth year of teaching. She received my bachelors in Spanish from Arcadia University. Mrs. Hardesty is teaching Spanish I,II, and III. She is excited to be a part of this Lasallian community, and look forward to teaching the student first, subject second. 
Ms. Kristina Mueller has a B.A. in Latin/Ancient Greek from Free University, Berlin, Germany; a M.A. Classical Philology from Free University, Berlin, Germany; and is pursuing her Ph.D. (expected Fall 2018) in Classics from the Johns Hopkins University.  She has been teaching at Hopkins for the past 5 years. Ms. Mueller has been instructing small groups and has focused on individual tutoring for middle and high school students for more than 15 years. She is teaching Latin I, II, III, and IV at CHC. Ms. Mueller is excited to share her passion for the Latin language and its culture with the students at CHC.

Fine Arts
Mr. George Wilkerson, Jr., Assistant Band Director, holds the Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education (Instrumental Track-Percussion) from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and the Master of Arts degree in Music from Morgan State University. He teaches the Concert Band, Jazz Lab, Fundamentals of Music, Percussion Ensemble, Competitive Marching Band (CMB), Full Marching Band (FMB), and History of Jazz. In addition to playing percussion, Mr. Wilkerson also enjoys playing many other instruments and singing.

Mr. Zach Rowe ’13 attended St. Mary's College of Maryland and graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in Economics, minor in Mathematics, in 2017.  This is his first year teaching at Calvert Hall and will be teaching Algebra I and 
Precalculus.  Mr. Rowe is excited to be back at Calvert Hall to teach the next generation of Hallmen.
Mr. John Lockwood '65 graduated with a B.A. in Mathematics from Loyola University Maryland and acquired his +30 credits from Towson State University. He taught for 44 years before retiring in 2014, spending a majority of that time (36 years) in the Howard County Public Schools. Mr. Lockwood has also taught at St. Joe's Cockeysville, Archbishop Curley, and Notre Dame Prep. After retiring, Mr. Lockwood subbed at CHC and found the students to be a refreshing difference. At Calvert Hall, Mr. Lockwood teaches Algebra I, Algebra II and Pre-Calc.

Ms. Kelly Jenkins got her bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Maryland.  She is currently completing her MAT from Towson University. She is teaching Biology and Physics. Ms. Jenkins is extremely excited to be starting her teaching career here at Calvert Hall! 

Social Studies 
Mr. Phil Bressler is a graduate of Baruch College in NYC.  He left the business world to pursue a teaching career.  He spent the last twenty plus years teaching in the Baltimore County Public School System.  Mr. Bressler is excited to be teaching AP Economics and government at Calvert Hall.
Mr. Jason Hasson spent the last two years at West Catholic Preparatory High School where he served as the Director of Admissions and Head Boy's Basketball coach.  This will be his 10th year working in the high school setting after receiving a Master's of Arts Degree in teaching from Manhattanville College.  Mr. Hasson is teaching World History I and World History II.  He is excited to be at Calvert Hall because it is an excellent school with great tradition.  
Mr. Patrick Hodge graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. in Social Studies for Secondary Education in 2018. He is teaching World History. Mr. Hodge is excited to be at CHC and be a part of the storied tradition both inside and outside the classroom!
