Marine Bio Classes Take On The Sharks

The Calvert Hall Marine Biology classes are participating in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Climate Observation (OCO) Adopt a Drifter Program (ADP). Their buoy was deployed on February 14th in the Northern Pacific Ocean. Later this spring, they will track tagged sharks using satellite location data through the OCEARCH Global Shark Tracker Program. They plan to assess how temperature and other physical and chemical variables influence the migratory movements of sharks.
