CHC Actions Surrounding COVID-19

The conversation surrounding COVID-19 is ever-changing and evolving. Please check our website frequently as we will update information on a regular basis. Click read more to learn the steps CHC is taking.
  • We will not have classes tomorrow (March 13).  Classes will be canceled through March 27.
  • The school building will be open 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 13 from 8:00 a.m. - noon so students can get books/supplies.
  • Our virtual school (online instruction) will begin on Wednesday, March 18.  Students will not have online instruction until Wednesday.
  • On CHC TV this morning, we outlined our basic plan on the ways teachers can deliver content.  Over the weekend, our Network Administrator, Mr. Ewachiw will send students and parents a video on how to download Microsoft Teams (the way we will deliver live classes).  By Monday, Mr. Blake will send a video explaining the schedule of classes and reviewing the guidelines for online instruction.  Additionally, teachers will have “virtual office hours” beginning Wednesday. Students should check each class page on Tuesday for a weekly schedule/syllabus.  This plan will give students an appropriate amount of time to prepare for courses beginning Wednesday.
  • Students who completed the online survey this morning and indicated they do not have a device can borrow a loaner from the Technology Department on Friday, March 13, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Students should make sure they are checking email and the Learning Management System on a regular basis.
  • All athletic games & practices are canceled beginning tomorrow through March 27.
  • All activities, rehearsals, travel, and performances are cancelled through March 27.
  • SATs will be held as scheduled at CHC on Saturday, March 14.
  • The senior retreat will return tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.
Finally, we will continue to monitor the situation with the safety of the students being the first priority.  Additional information will be available and sent as needed.  We ask for your patience as we venture into unchartered territory.  While we believe a good plan is in place, we will need to adapt to the situation and be flexible.  We ask for your cooperation.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
