Knott Foundation Awards Calvert Hall a $40,000 Grant
Calvert Hall is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Knott Foundation. The grant will support the Campus Ministry Program.
More specifically, the grant will be used for a wireless in-ear monitoring system for the liturgy band, immersion trips, senior retreat transportation, a rising Class of 2024 retreat, as well as support of the Lenten Small Group and the Peer Ministry Programs.
Brother John Kane, FSC, Ed.D, President of Calvert Hall shared, “We are so grateful to the Knott Foundation for this wonderful grant. A Calvert Hall education focuses on teaching the whole-person while remaining rooted in our Catholic Lasallian tradition. This grant will allow our Campus Ministry team the opportunity to elevate the program and reach more students. We thank the Knott Foundation for the grant and commitment to Catholic education in the Baltimore region.”
The Campus Ministry team will be able to immediately put the grant to good work. Campus Minister, Pat Collins ’15, explained. “Receiving the Knott Grant empowers our school community to continue to create opportunities for our students to encounter Christ. The generosity of the Knott Foundation will directly enable growth of Calvert Hall’s mission to form young men of intellect, faith, and integrity. ”Campus Minister, Maddie Pikus added, “This grant will allow Campus Ministry the opportunity to create a more robust experience for the Peer Ministry team and will elevate the schoolwide mass experience through the purchase of new sound equipment for the liturgy band.“
The Knott Foundation awards annual grants based on a competitive application and review process. Kelly Medinger, Executive Director for The Marion I. & Henry J. Knott Foundation, shared, “As part of our founders’ commitment to Catholic education and preparing faith-filled leaders for our community, we were pleased to support Calvert Hall’s Campus Ministry Program, especially as it ramps up participation and activities in post-pandemic times.”
Calvert Hall will begin utilizing the grant immediately.
