The Varsity Basketball team ran it's record to 6-0 with an impressive 68-53 victory over McKinley Tech of Washington DC. This win enabled the Cardinals to capture the championship at the Sidwell Friends Tournament. The team closed the first quarter with a 20-10 lead as they played solid defense and shared the ball on offense, In the second quarter, the tide started to turn towards McKinley Tech as Calvert Hall played poor defense and stopped playing team basketball as several players took very low percentage shots. This selfish play was addressed at halftime and the team played a quality all-around 4th quarter that enabled them to pull away for the win. On Wednesday, Mount Saint Joseph, pre-season number one ranked, will visit Calvert Hall for a crucial early season Catholic League showdown. The team is looking forward to playing in front of a packed gymnasium and a super charged "RED C". Come out and support your team!!
