Manny Rodriguez's 10 strikeouts helped the Cardinals to the victory. Manny allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks over six innings.

The Cardinals' Brandon Dorsey, Jack Finn, Troy Stokes and Tyler combined for seven hits and eight RBIs.

The top of the first saw Gilman take an early lead, 1-0. Gilman's threat began with a single by King. Then moved King from first to second.

The Cardinals didn't relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the first inning when they scored on an RBI double by Greg Carter and a two-run single by Jack.

One run in the top of the second helped Gilman close its deficit to 3-2. A solo home run by Sheets fueled Gilman's comeback. The Gilman threat came to an end when Manny finally got Blair to strike out.

The Cardinals survived Gilman's surge and put up five runs of their own in the second. The Cardinals scored on a two-run triple by Tyler, an RBI single by Troy, and a two-run single by Jack.

Three runs in the top of the seventh helped Gilman close its deficit to 9-5. An RBI double by King and a two-run single by Fitzgerald set off Gilman rally. The Cardinals' Trevor Sprinkle induced  Slodzinsky to hit into a double play to close things out.
