January Feature - Brad Borchers '98

Fellow Hallmen, my name is Brad Borchers, class of 1998.  I have worked in the banking and financial services industry ever since graduating from Mount St Mary’s University (formerly Mount St Mary’s College) in 2002.  I am a Senior Vice President and Commercial Banker for PNC Bank, and my office is located on Pratt Street, near the Inner Harbor of Baltimore.
I have over 20 years of experience in Banking, helping business owners and C-Suite executives navigate the many challenges that come with accessing loans and line of credit, working through the payments process and operating cycles of a business, and ultimately being a resource for strategic planning and growth initiatives.

My four years at The Hall were amazing!  I developed leadership and public speaking skills, as well as time management and organizational skills, and who can forget typing.  Back in the mid-1990s, typing was only a small piece of my overall education, but now, I couldn’t imagine life without mastering the skills of keyboarding.  Some of my fondest memories include the friendships I made throughout high school, and the different sports and activities I was a part of.  Including the opportunity to play in the 1996 Turkey Bowl.  And who could forget 3-a-days!

I am grateful for the teachers, coaches, and administration that made a sincere effort to support me, as a young man, growing and developing the core values that remain with me to this day.  Learning how to be a man of integrity, which comes with being honest, kind, giving, supportive, trustworthy, and hard-working.  I live these core values to the best of my abilities each day, and I try to instill them in my children.  My wife Jen (of 20 years) and I, have a daughter who is a Junior at Mercy High School, and a son who is an eight-grader at Perry Hall Middle School.  My hobbies and interests include golfing, traveling, and attending our kid’s sporting events.

As to my relationship with Calvert Hall today, I really enjoy visiting campus for several alumni events, including Homecoming and All-Day Hall Day, as well as participating in the annual alumni golf outing, and attending many MIAA Championship games.  Go Hall!
