Three Hallmen Named Finalists in 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program

Emlyn Davies '17, Chris Miller '17, and Jack Purcell '17 have been named finalists of the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program.

About 1.6 million students take the PSAT. Of these juniors, about 15,000 gain scores that qualify them as Finalists (approximately 1% of all students).

High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—a test which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.
