History of Rock and Roll Class

The History of Rock and Roll – Current CHC Students Only

Course Description:

From Elvis Presley to modern streaming artists, rock and roll has reflected the heartbeat of American life. This course explores how music connects to history, culture, and identity from the 1950s through today. Students will listen to music, analyze lyrics, watch short documentaries, and discuss how cultural movements shaped sound and style.

The History of Rock and Roll Class is an in-person class offered to students during their summer break.
 
Regular Office Hours will also be held to support all students.
WHEN - Tuesday, June 16 – Thursday, July 23
  • Classes will typically meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

TIME - 2 hours per class (10AM-12PM)
  • This is an in-person class
  • Rising Sophomores: Fulfill their Art Elective requirement, opening 3 frees in an otherwise crowded schedule.
TUITION - $400 per student
Sophomores:
For rising Sophomores, successful completion fulfills the CHC “Arts Elective” requirement. These students get the added benefit of greater Sophomore schedule flexibility, allowing them additional study time and freedom during a Cycle.
 
Enrollment is on a rolling basis, capped at the first 35 students registered.  Br. Rhoades will be in touch with registered students regarding course materials, online meeting expectations, syllabi, and other relevant information as the summer approaches.
