About the Student Led Endowment Fund

The Student Led Endowment is part of an innovative initiative proposed by two McMullen students. We are reaching out to donors to help seed this program.  Thus, funds for this program will enhance the school’s endowment as opposed to being carved out of the existing endowment funds.
The seed funding will be in three rounds over three years, the goal is to recruit $50,000 in dedicated funding each of the first three years of the program.  This will give each year’s students funding to invest
while allowing existing investments to be held for several years to maximize growth.  This will allow students to cash out of some winning positions and remove non-performing positions creating investment cash for years 4 and beyond.
Initially, student teams will be recruited from juniors and seniors - 5 teams of 4 students each will be selected. Alumni investment professionals will present investment lesson for the teams and help to identify appropriate stocks for students to analyze and present for investment consideration. Investment professionals will also
be paired with student teams to mentor their analyzing techniques and presentation construction.
Seed funding requests are underway, led by a $25,000 challenge by a generous alumnus. Donations to The Student Endowment made by 1/31/2025 will be matched up to a total of $25,000 in matching funds.
School endowment as of 6/30/24 - $27.4M by comparison 6/30/2019 - $13.2M
